In Her 89th Year

During the six years of the war Mrs. Lotinga Smith, now in her 8gth. year, who is so well known and beloved for her life-boat work in the Gedling and Carlton districts of Nottingham, personally collected over £2,000, and these districts, of which she is in charge, contributed altogether over £3,000. In spite of age and ill health she continues her work. In 1937 she was awarded the Institution's gold badge.
