Trinite, of Gothenburg

OCTOBER 21ST. - THURSO, CAITHNESSSHIRE.

At 2.30 in the morning the life-boat coxswain was out fishing and saw the schooner Trinite', of Gothenburg, ashore on the west point of Brims Ness. She made distress signals, and the coxswain returned to Thurso to call out the life-boat. A light southeasterly breeze was blowing and the sea was moderate. The motor life-boat H.C.J. was launched at 3.35. On her way she took a fishing boat in tow. This boat put a man aboard the schooner. She had come from Iceland and had got off her course in fog.

The life-boat stood by. The schooner refloated and anchored in the bay to wait for high water. It was then found that she was making water and the life-boat escorted her to the harbour, where she was beached. The life-boat arrived back at her station at six o’clock that morning. - Rewards, £14 6s. 6d..
