At 12.30 in the afternoon a report was received from a man at Rhos-on- Sea that a small boat was being carried out to sea off Colwyn Bay. The motor life-boat Thomas and Annie Wade Richards was launched at 12.45. The sea was rough and a strong west-north-westerly wind was blowing.

The life-boat found the boat with two men on board. They had gone out to fish in fair weather, but had been overtaken by a strong wind. Their anchor had failed to hold and they had been blown out to sea. The lifeboat took them on board and, with their boat in tow, brought them to Colwyn Bay. She returned to her station at 3.30.
