MAY 31ST. - CLOVELLY, DEVON. About 1.30 in the afternoon a message was received from the Hartland Point coastguard that an aeroplane had dived into the sea three miles north of Sharp Nose Point. A moderate gale was blowing, with a rough sea. At two o’clock the motor life-boat City of Nottingham was launched. It was done with difficulty owing to a bank of stones on the beach.
