A Raft

FEBRUARY 1 3TH. - ABERYSTWYTH, CARDIGANSHIRE. At 10.15 in the morning the coastguard telephoned that an object had been seen in the sea one and a half miles to the north-west. The sea was rough, with a heavy ground swell. A moderate west-southwest wind was blowing. The motor life-boat Frederick Angus was launched at 11.20 and found a raft of the type usually carried by small coasting vessels. No one was on it.

To avoid any danger to shipping the life-boat brought it in, arriving at 12.20 in the afternoon.
