The honorary secretary of the life-boat station was informed, and the lighthouse signalled the boat, which replied with an SOS. A light westerly wind was blowing, with a moderate sea. The motor life-boat Dunleary II was launched at 9.40 and found the fishing boat Girl Pat with a crew of two aboard.
