A Canadian Ship, H.M.S.C. Regina, and The Liberty Ship Ezra Weston

AUGUST 9TH. - PADSTOW, CORNWALL.

About 10.15 on the night of the 8th of August a message was received, through the coastguard, from a convoy that a ship was in distress and a pilot was needed. The night was very foggy, but the sea was calm. A later message said that a Canadian ship, H.M.S.C.

Regina, and the Liberty ship Ezra Weston had sunk, at sixteen minutes after midnight, six to eight miles north of Stepper Point, and asked that the life-boat should search for men.
