A message from the coastguard reported an aeroplane in the sea off Red Wharf, and the motor life-boat G.W. was launched at 1.30 P.M. The sea was moderate, with a moderate easterly wind. Only some things belonging to an R.A.F. aeroplane were picked up, and it was thought that the aeroplane had dived into the sea, and the spot was marked by the Navy.
