CORK. At 8.45 P.M. a message was received that a flare had been seen a mile S.W. of Ballycotton Light. A moderate N. wind was blowing with a slight sea. At 9 P.M. the motor life-boat Mary Stanford was launched and found the motor fishing, boat Point Girl of Ballycotton, with her engine broken down Four persons were on board., and they asked the life-boat to take them in tow, as night was falling and the wind was blowing off the land. The life-boat did so and arrived at her station at 9.45 P.M. - Rewards, £6 18s..
