MAY 30TH. - GOURDON, KINCARDINESHIRE.
At 5 A.M. a vessel was sounding distress signals on her siren. A light S.W.
breeze was blowing and the sea was smooth.
It was foggy. At 5.25 A.M. the motor life-boat Margaret Dawson was launched and found the trawler Grenada, of Aberdeen, stranded a quarter of a mile east of Johnshaven. Her deck was awash. The life-boat stood by until she refloated on the rising tide and was able to go on her way to Aberdeen. The life-boat returned to her station at 8.5 A.M. - Rewards, £15 11s..
