JULY 21ST. - LYTHAM - ST. ANNES, LANCASHIRE. At 9.45 P.M. the harbour master reported that a minesweeper was aground east of Gut Gas Buoy. A strong S.W. breeze was blowing, with a rough sea.

Another message said that the trawler was all right, but the honorary secretary of the life-boat station was of opinion that the minesweeper was in a dangerous position ; the naval authorities agreed ; and the life-boat put out. At 11 P.M. the motor life-boat Dunleary was launched and found that the minesweeper had just refloated.
