The S.S. Roxby
Nov. 19TH. - WALMER, KENT. At 10.35 A.M. a message was received from the Deal coastguard that signals for a doctor had been made by the S.S. Roxby, of West Hartlepool, anchored in the Downs. A strong W.N.W. wind was blowing, with a moderate sea. As the weather was too rough for motor boats, the doctor asked for the life-boat. At 10.50 A.M. the motor lifeboat Charles Dibdin (Civil Service No. 2) was launched with the doctor and a naval officer on board. A man on board the Roxby had been injured. The life-boat brought him ashore, and he was taken to hospital. The life-boat returned to her station at 12.30 P.M.
