At 11.10 A.M. a fishing boat was seen drifting about three miles E.S.E. of Sunderland. A strong W.S.W. breeze was blowing, with a moderate sea. The motor life-boat Elizabeth Newton - on temporary duty at this station - was launched at 11.35 A.M. She found the sailing fishing boat Mary, of Sunderland, with a crew of two. As the fishing boat was in some danger the life-boat towed her into harbour, arriving at 12.45 P.M. - Rewards, £5 13s..
