St. Clare

At 7.45 P.M. it was reported that the small fishing boat St. Clare, of Arklow, was burning flares in Arklow Bay. The sea was rough, with a westerly gale blowing. The coxswain and the second coxswain were both out fishing, but another man took charge, and the motor life-boat Inbhear Mor was launched at 8.10 P.M. She found the St. Clare two miles S.E. of Arklow Harbour. with four men on board. She was at anchor, with her engine broken down. The life-boat took her in tow and brought her into Arklow Harbour about 9.15 P.M. - Rewards, £15 8s. 6d..
