OCT. 27TH - TORBAY, DEVONSHIRE.
It was reported to the senior naval officer, Weymouth, by an observer on a R.A.F.
aeroplane, engaged on reconnaisance over West Bay, that a motor boat was drifting about ten miles north-east of Berry Head.
The information was passed to the life-boat station by the coastguard. A strong north wind was blowing, with a moderate sea.. At 8 A.M. the motor life-boat George Shee waslaunched and found the motor boat Olive, but she had no one on board. The life-boat returned to her station at 1 P.M., bringing the boat with her. - Rewards, £7 6s. 6d..
