OCT. 3RD. - WALTON AND FRINTON, ESSEX, At about 4 P.M. the coastguard reported that a motor yacht, lying about two miles S.W. by S. of Walton Pier, was flying distress signals. A moderate easterly gale was blowing, and the sea was very rough.

The motor life-boat E.M.E.D. was launched at 4.25 P.M. and found the motor yacht Herga, of Guernsey, with a crew of six, in difficulties with her engine. At the request of her crew the life-boat started to escort her to Harwich, but very soon had to take her in tow.
