JULY 13TH. - LYNMOUTH, DEVON. At about 7.30 P.M. a motor yacht was seen flying a distress signal. A squally southerly wind was blowing, with a choppy sea. T h e pulling and sailing life-boat Prichard Frederick Gainer was launched at 7.50 P.M. She found the motor yacht Doric, of Upton-on-Severn, a quarter of a mile off Lynmouth beach, with a crew of three on board. One of her engines had broken down and the dinghy that she was towing had been swamped. A lifeboatman was put on board her and her engine was started. The life-boat then escorted her into Lynmouth and returned to her station at 8.45 P.M. The owner of the Doric, who was on board her, has made a donation to the Institution’s funds.-Rewards, £30 14s.
