JULY 6TH - .WALMER, KENT. At 12.50 P.M. a message was received from the Deal coastguard that a sailing boat with five people on board was flying an oilskin in her rigging near Deal Bank Buoy. A strong S.W. wind was blowing, with a rough sea.

The motor life-boat Charles Dibdin (Civil Service No. 2) was launched at 1.5 P.M. She found the sailing boat shipping heavy water, and escorted her to Ramsgate. She returned to her station at 3.40 P.M. - Rewards, £9 13s. 6d.
