Sunderland: GRANGETOWN PRIMARY HIT THE SURF

Last autumn, Year 4, 5 and 6 children from Grangetown Primary School in Sunderland enjoyed a Hit the Surf session with RNLI volunteers at Seaburn Beach. After a safety talk about flags and currents, they donned wetsuits and split into two groups. The first group learned about using lifeguards' rescue floats, while the second group used bodyboards to get comfortable paddling and floating. The children had a great time and now feel more confident to stay safe in the water.
