New RNLI Vice Chair

The RNLI is recruiting a new Vice Chair as part of plans to find a successor to our current Chairman, Charles Hunter-Pease. Charles has stated his intention to retire in 2017, after what will have been 4 years of dedicated and inspirational service in our most senior voluntary role (the tenure period for the Chair is from 3–5 years). The Chair leads the RNLI’s Board of Trustees, acts as our lead ambassador, and is a key representative of the RNLI to a wide range of audiences. Now the RNLI is exploring a variety of ways to identify potential candidates for the position, including the selection of a Vice Chair.

Anyone selected for this role who is not currently involved in the RNLI’s governance would need to be – or become – an RNLI trustee of the charity by the start of 2016, before being appointed as Vice Chair by the board.
