This is the moment that the RNLI’s Patron, HM The Queen, thanked Newhaven lifeboat crew for their courage during the October storms. Her Royal Highness met Newhaven lifeboat Coxswain Paul Legendre during a visit to Newhaven after the crew searched for a missing teenager in rough, confused seas (see page 9 for more).

‘It was an incredibly proud moment to meet The Queen,’ said Paul. ‘Her Majesty said that she has seen the TV footage of our search and she clearly has great admiration for all the emergency services. She asked me to thank all the crew for their efforts.’
