Windswept swimmer

31 August 2012: Both New Quay lifeboats went to the aid of a swimmer swept out to sea by strong winds and the tide. The inshore crew found the exhausted man 200m from the shore. The two crews then worked together to pull him aboard the all-weather lifeboat, where he was airlifted by an RAF rescue helicopter and taken to hospital.
