40.1653A beach goer raised the alarm at Blackpool on 13 September, when he spotted that his partner was having trouble in the water. Two of the three station lifeboats were launched immediately and the woman, who had gone for a swim, was found unconscious just beneath the surface. The volunteers successfully revived her and brought her ashore to a waiting ambulance.
