Hotting up

UPKinsale lifeboat crew tackled their biggest casualty on 2 February when the relief B class Walters Lifeboat brought in the 35-tonne Paulona. The 12m fi shing vessel was heading for Baltimore when the engine’s temperature started to rise and had to be shut down. The rigid infl atable lifeboat was launched to the drifting craft at 8.45am. After being towed for an hour at a steady 5 knots, Paulona was skilfully manoeuvred onto the main pier in Kinsale.
