Admiral The Lord Boyce will take over as Chairman of the RNLI from 5 November this year.

He joined the RNLI Council in 2004 and has served as Vice-Chairman since 2006. In his naval career he was First Sea Lord and Chief of Defence Staff, before his retirement in 2003.
