For services to maritime safety, the following have been awarded the MBE in HM The Queen’s New Year Honours:

Mr Roy Barker, Vice-Chairman, Zetland museum; Mrs Jean Frost, Manager, Rhyl lifeboat souvenir shop; Mr Aran Morris, Vice-President, Borth lifeboat station; Mr Harold Roberts, Senior Hovercraft Commander, Morecambe lifeboat station. Mr Thomas Boyd, who serves on the RNLI Council, has been awarded the OBE for service to the fishing industry and to his community.

Former RNLI Head of Fundraising Mr Anthony Oliver was also awarded the MBE for service to the community.
