Floating away Arbroath's all-weather crew were assisting a local boat on 8 April 2006 when they noticed an inflatable dinghy being swept out to sea by tide and wind. D class John Charles Raybould and crew launched at 3pm to investigate. They found three 11-13-year-old boys wearing only shorts and T-shirts and no lifejackets. Cold and wet, they were highly vulnerable and would certainly have perished quickly had they entered the water. Onshore,they were checked by paramedics and taken home by the police.
