Girvan - Scotland Division

Flanked by gardens and pathways, a sheltered and colourful harbour at the mouth of the winding water of Girvan is the base of a fishing fleet. The harbour is also home to Girvan sailing club and boats can be hired by sea anglers.

Girvan's first lifeboat station was constructed in 1865 on a site given by the Duchesse de Coigny. Today the station's Mersey class lifeboat lies afloat in the harbour just outside the shore facility, which was constructed in the early 90s Main photo (left) Ref: 641469 Detailed photo (right) Ref: 641478.
