Broughty Ferry's Arun can be seen lying afloat just to the right of centre in the main photograph, with the boathouse on the foreshore at the far right.

The boathouse is now home to the boarding boat and D class lifeboat which launch from cradles down the old slip - one of which can just be seen at the water's edge in the close up.

Closer to the camera are the L-shape Pilot's pier and the drying Broughty Harbour next to the castle. In the background are the Tay road and rail bridges. The photo looks down river to the west, with the open sea behind the camera.
