Michael Ashley, south east regional manager, presented the Roderick cup to Phil Barry, the proprietor of the Beachcomber Cafe, Barton-on-Sea, the winner of the annual competition for the top collecting box The ladies in the photograph are Mrs Elva Curtis, souvenir secretary, and her daughter Gillian who sold souvenirs to the value of £11,000 during 1993, mostly in the garden of the Beachcomber Cafe where they set up their stall on every possible fine day during the summer.

The branch sent over £22,000 to headquarters last year.
