Dunkirk Lifeboats Remembered

The Sir William Hillary to which Mr Hills refers below was the RNLI'sfirst 'fast' lifeboat. Designed largely for rapid response in the event of an aircraft crash, she was 64ft long and powered by two 375hp petrol engines giving a speed of between 17 and 18 knots.
