Relief fleet D class A new D class lifeboat provided by the patrons of the Fox & Hounds public house in Surbiton was handed over to the RNLI in Poole on 4 February 1989.

Some of the patrons were present when Mr Vic Choules, representing the donors, handed the lifeboat into the care of the RNLI. She was accepted by Mr Anthony Oliver, head of fund raising, for use in the relief fleet.

The Reverend Stanley Holbrooke-Jones, MA DipTH, Rector of St James' Church, Poole, conducted a service of dedication.Holyhead-o class Holyhead's new D class lifeboat, funded from the proceeds of the Stamp Appeal, was dedicated at the station on Sunday 18 September 1988.

Mr G.M. Burnell, station honorary secretary, welcomed the guests at the ceremony, which included members of the branch committee, Ladies' Guild, crew members and members of the public.

The service of dedication was conducted by the Rector of Holyhead, the Reverend James Ashley Roberts.

The Stamp Appeal, organised by Mr and Mrs Smale, has been running for more than 20 years.

Lytham St Annes D class .The new D class lifeboat for Lytham St Annes was dedicated at the annual Fishermen's and Lifeboatmen's Service at St John the Divine, Lytham on 10 July 1988.

described the boat which was formally handed over by Mr M. A. Balshaw, the nephew of Mr and Mrs Balshaw. A commemorative plaque was unveiled by Mr H.

Pace.

The lifeboat was funded from the legacy of Mr F. A. Balshaw, together with a generous donation from Mr Pace.Relief fleet-D class The third D class lifeboat to be funded by the Association of Ex- Tablers'Clubs (41 Club) was officially handed over and dedicated at the RNLI depot in Poole on 21 January 1989.

Representatives from 41 Clubs throughout the country were present at the ceremony when Mr Anthony Oliver, head of fund raising, opened the proceedings.

Mr Solly Seaton, national president of 41 Clubs, then handed over the lifeboat to Mr Oliver who accepted it on behalf of the RNLI for use in the relief fleet.

Mr Richard Perks, staff officer, described the lifeboat and her future role which was followed by a service of dedication, led by the Reverend Stanley Holbrooke- Jones, MA DipTh, Rector of St James' Church, Poole..
