Seven-year-old Neil West, of Ravensheud, proudly displays the "Jiin'/l Fix It" budge and Storm Force certificate he received after appearing on Jimmy Savile's popular BBC television programme. Neil wrote to the programme last year asking if he could go on a lifeboat launch and, as a result, joined the Padstow lifeboat crew earlier this year for a practice launch, during which he was allowed lo steer the lifeboat and call for an RAF helicopter lo rescue a man overboard. The lifeboat crew presented Neil with an RNLI pullover and Idler, in the BBC studios in London, he was enrolled into Storm Force, presented with a framed certificate and a hat.
