Ray Rushton has been raising money for D class inflatable lifeboats for some years in sponsorship of his veteran car in the London to Brighton Run. He was also responsible for an RNLI benefit night at Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium which, together with the 1983 car run, raised more than £2,000.
