Steel Is the Material Chosen for the 47Ft Tyne Class Lifeboat

Steel is the material chosen for the 47ft Tyne class lifeboat which is designed to be launched from and recovered and hauled up coastal slipsways. An all-welded steel structure is effectively monolithic, a weld in steel developing the full strength of the parent material.
