A Team of 24 Students from the City and Guild's College Union of Imperial College London

A team of 24 students from the City and Guild's College Union of Imperial College, London, set out on July 10 to try to set a record for pedalling non stop 3,675 miles round the coast of Britain; they arrived back in London within a few hours of schedule eleven days later. The aim was to fund a lifeboat engine: more than £3,600 has already been received in sponsorship with much more still to come when the students return from their summer vacation. Here, some of the team, with the HPV (human powered vehicle) and project organiser Tim Bell (third from right), are seen at Poole with Anthony Oliver, RNLI appeals secretary (second from right) and (I) Barry Bright, deputy appeals secretary..
