Ramsgate: Rear Admiral W.

J. Graham, director of the Institution, show Mrs Irene Tew, a visitor from Canada, the figurehead from the cargo ship Indian Chief. Mrs Tew is a great-granddaughter of Coxswain Charles Fish who was awarded the gold medal for the rescue of 12 men from the Indian Chief, wrecked on Long Sand, 30 miles off Ramsgate, in 1881.
