Over 200 Scouts, Guides, Cub Scouts and Brownies, members of Penarth Scout and Guide Swim Club, took part in a sponsored swim for the RNLl and raised £610. The monster cheque was presented by Phil Smith (I), Scout district treasurer, to Captain W. G. Sommerfie/d, Penarth station honorary secretary. Les Pugh (extreme left) organised the swim.
