The crew of St Peter Port, Guernsey, 52ft Arun class lifeboat Sir William Arnold who, on December 13, 1981, in winds gusting to hurricane force rescued 29 people from the Ecuadorian motor vessel Bonita (see page 77). It was a service for which a gold medal was awarded to the coxswain and the bronze medal to each of his crew.
