With the Help of Post Office Telephone

With the help of Post Office Telephone engineers and landowners, some thousands of metres of underground cable have been laid to ins/al an emergency telephone on the popular but isolated Cocklawburn Beach, two miles south of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The telephone was inaugurated in early Julv by Dr Doug/as McDonald, chairman of the branch. With him are Chris Pike, honorary treasurer.
