July 15, Danny La Rue, then appearing in his summer show at Great Yarmouth, came to the market place lifeboat stall and signed photographs of himself, which he donated, and also lifeboat cards. In little more than an hour he had added nearly £50 to the funds. In all, £244 was taken on the souvenir stall.
