Mudeford's New Lifeboathouse

Mudeford's new lifeboathouse, funded almost entirely by the branch with strong local support, was opened on Sunday June 28 by Vice- Admiral Sir Peter Compston, a deputy chairman of the Institution.

The ceremony followed the dedication of a Zodiac Mk IV inflatable lifeboat which is on extended evaluation trials at Mudeford. The lifeboat has been funded by a special appeal organised by the Central London Committee and Mrs Richard Saunders, chairman of the CLC, handed her over to Admiral Compston. The service of dedication was led by the Reverend Basil H. T. Trevor-Morgan, vicar of Christchurch, assisted bv clergy representing other local churches.
