Fourteenth Rnli National Lottery

THE RNU was lucky to have 'two' wellknown personalities at the draw of the fourteenth national lottery of July 21.

Before an audience of American Branch committee members, representatives of Hilbourne Junior Guild and staff members from Barclays International, impressionist Janet Brown pulled out the winning tickets from the drum, and then 'Margaret Thatcher' made an impromptu speech and spokeof her many lifeboat friends in Flamborough, Bridlington and Scarborough.

The draw was supervised by Vice- Admiral Sir Peter Compston, a deputy chairman of the RNLI, and Cdr Ted Pritchard, appeals secretary. The lottery raised more than £28,000 and the prize winners were: £1,000: J. A. Looker, Wolverhampton, West Midlands.

£500: K. G. James, Alton, Hampshire.

£250: Mrs A. R. Wright, Fareham, Hampshire.

£25: B. D. Faunce, Sevenoaks, Kent; N.

The draw for the fifteenth national lottery will be on October 30.

Miss Brown also drew the winning ticket for an American branch raffle, the prize being a cruise on the P and O liner Canberra, generously donated by the cruise line; it was won by Mrs Rogers of Pontefract, West Yorkshire..
