Lowestoft: At 0625 on Tuesday August 14, 1979, the morning of the Fastnet Storm, Lowestoft's 47ft Watson lifeboat Frederick Edward Crick launched on service to escort the Dutch yacht Lutjewald, in difficulties in rough seas and a south-westerly strong breeze, force 6, gusting to gale force 8.
