(above) Last December the 52ft Burnett Euphrosyne Kendal on temporary duty at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, rendezvoused in the Solent with Air Commodore Brian Macnamuru's yacht, Tamare, to pick up festive fare and deliver it to the Needles Lighthouse: because of swell right over the landing steps, the packets were passed across on a line. The Christmas fare is provided by the users of Lymington River with help from Yarmouth yacthsmen: some of the money subscribed is saved over a number of years for larger presents, such us a television.
