To improve communications for D class ILBs, Ron Caldicott (/.), electronics surveyor/ maintenance, and Pete Young, electronics surveyor, have produced a portable, waterproof and unsinkable version of the Pye Westminster VHP radio.

It is hoped that 25 sets will be assembled this summer, with a further 20 to follow..
