A Dutch yacht, Carolina, with three people on board, ran aground on the western end of Bramble Bank in a strong south-westerly breeze on Monday, July 19. Calshot's40' Keith Nelson lifeboat, Ernest William and Elizabeth Ellen Hinde, using her boarding boat to put members of her crew aboard and pass a line, towed Carolina free and led her back to Calshot for an inspection to make sure the yacht was seaworthy. Her owner made a donation to branch funds.
