Inspired by winter gales and accounts of shipwrecks at sea, the children of Whittington Oval Junior School, Stechford, Birmingham, decided to help the RNLI and collected £281 entirely on their own initiative. Ideas included sponsored silences and the sale of eggcups.
A triumph in which to rejoice indeed.
