COVER PICTURE Thomas Forehead and Mary Rowse II has recently taken up station at Plymouth. She a 44' Waveney class 'fast afloat' lifeboat built to a design introduced from the US Coast Guard in 1964. Her twin General Motors Detroit marine diesel engines give her a maximum speed of more than 15 knots, and she is exceptionally manoeuvrable.
