In March the crew of the Salcombe life-boat, The Baltic Exchange, visited London as guests of the Baltic Exchange who presented the boat in 1962.

They were accompanied by their coxswain, Mr. Hubert Distin, and honorary secretary, Mr. W. P. Budgett.

A special relief crew made up of three Geordies, a Welshman and a Cornishman manned the Salcombe life-boat while the regulars went to London..
